🎀 What's Passed Out about?/ Where did the name come from/How did you set up?
Marius, Briegel & Ana met as friends for a regular jam session, like playing songs just for fun. Then there was this hardcore show in Cologne Aleks hosted with her booking crew & she performed a feature for Times Of Desperation. So Briegel asked her to sing in this project & one year later Fabi joined on bass guitar.
Passed Out has no deeper meaning, but actually one person passed out in the pit of our first show in Bonn. Nothing we show off with but there is some kind of irony . . .
🎀 What's the sassiest thing you've ever done?
Being part of this band is the sassiest thing we´ll ever be able to do.
🎀 What inspires you to play music?
We often feel a sense of inertia after not playing for a while, which becomes quite inspiring. Also playing with friends is one of the warmest feelings we can think of. The sensation of not being alone by sharing values through music & growing together is truly a great inspiration.

🎀 What's your writing process?
Aleks sometimes sends voice messages to the group in which she hums cryptic melodies, & at the next rehearsal we try to turn them into songs.
🎀 What are you most excited about for the tour with Spiruline?
It is a fcking UK-Tour, what else do we need to say? We are incredibly excited & cant wait to kick off 🔥
🎀 I saw someone say that you will play wherever there is Spezi. Having looked into it that seems like a crackheads drink. How does it hold dear to your heart?
I dont know if we talk about the same thing hahaha
No seriously, you may be right. It is one of the countless drinks german people are ridiculously proud of (I dont know if it is some kind of compensation, but there are billions of german soft drink alternatives to like coca cola etc). Anyways, Spezi is our guilty pleasure.
Editors note: from my research Spezi is a mix of orange soda & cola which tbh blew my mind. The closest I’ve ever come 2 this is when we were kids & ended up boiling the insides of jaffa cakes bcoz we were partying in the middle of nowhere & had run out of mixer 🍹
🎀 Okay, Passed Outs one of a kind tour cocktail what we saying? Spezi is the base, each member picks an ingredient (doesn't have to be liquid, can be solid, metaphorical, existential, you name it)
Okay, Aleks is the Spezi base because she is literally addicted to this stuff, Marius is a shot of Jever Fun because he is something like our band daddy who needs his beer but chooses one without alcohol (he is pretty aware of responsibilities), Ana would add some lime juice to round it off like she makes us sound groovy, Briegel is a pinch of salt just to be edgy & Fabi is one of these cocktail umbrellas or any similar toy.

🎀 Who are your main influences in music/life?
There are so many local bands & individuals that put all their energy in DIY projects to keep the scene alive. This is the most inspiring thing we can imagine.

🎀 When you're not doing band stuff what do you get up to?
Aleks has a passion for thrifting & recently started to crochet, Fabi makes use of his time outdoor, Marius is involved in other band projects, Ana has her cat & peers & Briegel is into books & cinema.

🎀 Tell us about your latest release. What's the feeling to it/what's it about?
WEB OF LIES is our firstborn. We loved working on it & everyone of us put all their heart into this project. It was not easy to decide which of our songs will make it on the EP but we are happy with the result.
It is a privilege to be supported by the most talented people of the scene, so WEB OF LIES became exactly the particular kind of album we always wanted to release. It tells a story about pain, about emotional development, about weltschmerz, our values & empowerment.

You can tear it apart from the inside & use the fabric to knit a cute scarf 💞
